Irri-Boro harvest begins in Tangail

TANGAIL, May 15: Harvesting of Irri Boro paddy started in the 12 upazilas of the district.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Tangail set a target to cultivate Boro paddy on a total of 165929 hectares of land in the district this year with production target of 641210 metric tonnes of rice. At present the paddy fields have assumed a new looks as the greenish seedlings were turned into yellowish. The farmers of the district have started to harvest Boro with much enthusiasm.
Harvesting of Irri Boro is now going on in full swing at all the places in Tangail, Mirzapur, Modhupur, Ghatail, Nagorpur, Gopalpur, Bashail.
