Is fighting menace still on agenda?

How drug is destroying our society is known to the parents whose sons and daughters are addicted to illicit drugs. People always advised others to stay away from drugs and there were social and official campaigns to prevent drug addiction. But, the drug trafficking, thanks to increasing demand for narcotic substances, reached such a proportion that there was a drive by law enforcement and that was appreciated by many.
However, we haven't taken enoughmeasures to stop drug addiction and drug trafficking in recent times. In fact, the pandemic has diverted our national focus. Now we read media reports on various allegations against different quarters especially in the context of the law and order situation in Cox's Bazar.
Unfortunately, we haven't seen well-coordinated, multiple actions, starting from motivation to stern actions against drug peddlers. A lot of hard-earned money, including foreign currency, is being spent on drug whereas a generation of youths are being spoiled. We cannot afford to ignore this serious issue.
