Is it equality?

THE other day while going through the New DOHS, Mahakhali, I saw a young lady smoking on the road. I see women doing it everyday at IBA, Dhaka University. I also found ladies to be more perfect than men. But I wonder, why do these women smoke? I think, I have an explanation. In most cases, men and women who smoke, say that smoking gives them some kind of diversion from tensions they go through. But this explanation seems lame for the female smokers. The main issue behind their smoking is the tendency to show off that they are equal to men.
But can a man and a woman be equal? The answer is certainly 'no'. In the matter of physical strength, a woman can never be equal to a man. But men and women can be equal in their merit. So, I do not understand why these ladies try in vain to be equal to men. The reason behind this may be a wrong interpretation of feminism.
Now-a-days, everywhere the issue of equal rights for women is discussed. This 'equal rights to women' does not necessarily mean that the women need to behave like men.
We all have to realise that men and women are totally different entities and they can never be alike. So, wearing trousers and T-shirts and smoking do not turn women into men. By doing these things, they only harm their health and image. It is women who give birth to children and feed them. They are closer to an infant.
Besides, smoking is bound to hamper the health of the mother and the child. Therefore, we would like to request the young ladies, the future mothers, to give up smoking, bad company and the path that can derail them. We all ought to look for a healthy world.
