Islami Bank distributes scholarship awards to IIUC, MIIU students

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) distributed prizes among the meritorious students who achieved highest positions in Banking Department of University of Dhaka and in Finance and Banking Department of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) and Manarat International Islamic University (MIIU) and the meritorious children of the officers and staff of the bank in the city Tuesday.
Finance Adviser AB Mirza Azizul Islam distributed scholarship awards among the students as the chief guest.
Chaired by IBBL Chairman Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher, the programme was attended, among others, by IIUC Vice Chancellor AKM Azharul Islam and MIIU Vice Chancellor Umar Ali as the special guests.
Vice Chairman Zainul Abedin and Deputy Executive President ATM Harun-Ur-Rashid Chowdhury were also present on the occasion.
Seven students scoring the highest marks in the MBA final examinations in Banking Department held in 2006 from Dhaka University and IIUC and MIIU in Banking and Islamic Finance were awarded at the programme.
Besides, a total of 106 meritorious students of SSC and HSC of the officers and staff of the IBBL have also been awarded. The total amount of award is over Tk 1.0 million.
Under its scholarship project, the IBBL has already distributed over Tk 9.1 among 45 university students and 356 students of SSC and HSC levels till 2006.
