Islami Bank opens branch at Bandarban

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) inaugurated a branch in Bandarban Sunday. It is the 195th branch of the bank located on Central Mosque Road of Bandarban district town.
Chief Executive Officer of Parbottya Zilla Parishad Helal Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the branch as the chief guest where Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Abul Kalam Shamsuddin and former chief executive of Chittagong City Corporation were special guests.
IBBL Director Md Eskander Ali Khan presided over the function, which was addressed, among others, by Deputy Managing Director and Head of the Investment Wing Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Executive Vice President and Head of Chittagong zone Md Abul Hossain and former member of Parbottay Zilla Parishad Dalilur Rahman.
Helal Uddin thanked Islami Bank authorities for starting interest-free banking system in the country and opening branch in Bandarban.
A seminar on 'Islamic Economics and Banking' was also organised on the occasion of inauguration of the branch on the bank premises Saturday.
IBBL DMD Mohammad Abdul Mannan presided over the seminar where Shari'ah Council Member Mufti Shamsuddin (Zia) was the chief discussant.
