'Islamic banking outshines traditional one'

Islamic banking is now accepted all over the world to face economic recession than the traditional banking systems, according to a press release.
Prof Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher, chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL), has made the observation.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of a week-long 'Manpower Development Programme' jointly organised by the IBBL head office and Islami Bank Training and Research Academy (IBTRA) at the Islami Bank Tower in the city Monday.
Nazir Ahmed, former chairman of IBBL and also the chairman of academic council of IBTRA, Mustafa Anwar, vice-chairman, Md Eskander Ali Khan, chairman of the executive committee, and Md Shahidul Islam, chairman of audit committee, were present as special guests on the occasion.
Presided over by M Fariduddin Ahmad, managing director of the bank, the programme was addressed, among others, by Mohd Shamsul Huq, IBBL deputy managing director, and Mohammad Mustafha Bintube, chief executive officer and team leader of Jaiz Bank International, Nigeria (proposed).
The IBBL head office and IBTRA arranged the training programme prior to initiating Islamic banking in Nigeria by the proposed Jaiz Bank International.
