Islamic Foundation for uniform process for Khatam Tarabi

Wednesday, 25 June 2014

Islamic Foundation has requested authorities of all mosques across the country to follow the same procedure for ‘Khatam Tarabi’ during the holy month of Ramadan. As different mosques recite different paras (sections) and suras (verses) of the Holy Quran during Khatam Tarabi it creates problems for religious-minded people who need to travel for job purposes or other emergencies, said a Foundation press release. These people cannot follow the order of the Quran Khatam and are deprived of the virtue of Khatam Tarabi. To resolve the problem, the foundation called on all imams, mosque committees and musallees to recite nine paras of the Holy Quran in the first six days of Ramadan by reciting one and a half paras daily and 21 paras in the next 21 days reciting one para every day to complete Quran Sharif by the night of Lailatul Qadr (Ramadan 27). Earlier, ulemas and imams after a discussion agreed to follow the same order for Khatam Quran and most mosques follow it, according to a news agency.
