Ispahani receives two National Tea Awards

Ispahani's tea gardens have been honoured with awards in two categories at the first-ever National Tea Awards.
The recognition was bestowed upon Ispahani during a special event held on the 'National Tea Day 2023', in appreciation of its significant contributions to Bangladesh's tea industry, says a press release.
Mirza Ahmed Ispahani, Director of Ispahani Group, received the award on behalf of Ispahani for the category of 'Best Tea Garden Based on Worker Welfare' at a programme marking the '3rd National Tea Day' at Sreemangal in Moulvibazar on Sunday. Bangladesh Tea Board organised the event.
Ispahani's Zareen Tea Garden won the recognition as the 'Best Tea Garden Based on Worker Welfare'.
Besides, tea worker Upalaxmi Tripura of Neptune Tea Garden of Ispahani won the award in the 'Best Tea Leaf Picker' category. Golam Mustafa, Chief Operating Officer of Ispahani Tea Estate, and Upalaxmi received the award.
The 'National Tea Award' was given for the first time by the Ministry of Commerce and Bangladesh Tea Board. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi was present at the event as the chief guest and distributed the awards.
Dr. Md Abdus Shahid, MP was present as a special guest while Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, presided over the function.
Bangladesh Tea Board Chairman Major General Md Ashraful Islam, FBCCI President Md Jasim Uddin, Tea Traders Association of Bangladesh Chairman Shah Moinuddin Hasan, and Bangladesh Tea Association President Kamran T Rahman were also present.
