FE Desk | Saturday, 1 August 2015

Everjobs, the fastest growing job portal in emerging markets, has identified jobs in Information Technology as the most popular, followed by banking and newspaper jobs.
In June 2015 a boom in job applications was observed on the platform. Analysis of search frequencies demonstrates that IT jobs are at the top of jobseekers' lists. The data also shows that more and more people look for part-time jobs. This reflects a trend towards project-based work instead of lifelong employment.
Bart van Dijk, Business Development Manager for Everjobs.com.bd, states "The large population, rising education level and raw talent holds a lot of potential for companies searching to recruit in Bangladesh. For finding the perfect job, the right mix between talent and education is essential. For companies, now is the best time to address the current need for qualified people in growing industries such as IT. The increasing popularity of IT jobs shows that Digital Bangladesh is on the rise."
Since IT/Software is also the No.2 job category with most vacancies, chances are good to find a match for both companies and job seekers. The most vacancies in total however are to be found as a sales professional.
The report also indicates that Dhaka offers the highest number of vacancies, followed by Chittagong. Increased numbers of vacancies have been recorded in Sylhet and Jessore during June.
Everjobs publishes a monthly Career Report revealing recent changes in the Bangladesh job market. The report is based on the data collected from the Everjobs platform.
