IT Village to be set up in Rajshahi: Mayor

RAJSHAHI, Mar 29 (BSS): Mayor of Rajshahi AHM Khairuzzaman Liton said that the preliminary works were started for building an Information and Technology (IT) village here to supplement the government pledge to build digital Bangladesh.
As early as possible, he said, the village would be built in the eastern part of the city and hoped that Rajshahi would be built as an information technology- based city.
He was addressing the prize-giving ceremony of the annual sports and talents of Bangladesh Council for Science and Industrial Research (BCSIR) High School at BCSIR auditorium here yesterday as the chief guest.
Mayor Liton said that the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had been giving highest emphasis on the education sector aimed at making the nation as literate.
