Italian minister, Dipu Moni discuss bilateral issues

Foreign Minister Dipu Moni and Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Stefain Craxi Monday discussed bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation and paid importance to increase the number of flights between the two countries, reports UNB.
During a meeting at the Foreign Ministry, Craxi said Bangladeshishave been greatly contributing to the Italian economy. She said theBangladeshi people are very intellectually capable, laborious andgentle.
She said Italy and the European Union are pleased to observe theconstructive role of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the SAARC summitin Bhutan to carry forward the SAARC process.
Ms. Craxi further said that Italy and European are willing toenhance cooperation with SAARC in the regional and multilateral arenas.
Dipu Moni thanked the Italian government for supporting Bangladesh'scandidate in the CEDAW. She said Bangladesh government has created aninvestment friendly climate to draw foreign investments and expressed the hope theItalian investors would avail of these opportunities.
Dipu Moni agreed on signing of a cultural agreement between th countries. She observed that the high level bilateral visits would further help strengthen the existing bilateral ties.
