The Information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE) drew attention of the local IT professionals as the BD-ITEC centre arranged different kinds of counselling with the help of Japanese experts in the ongoing Digital World 2014 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital, reports BSS.
Bangladesh government has introduced the ITEE in the country with the support of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) from last year free of cost for giving international standardisation to the local IT professionals, a press release said in the capital Friday.
At the "Digital World", the country's largest IT exposition, BD-TECH Project Director Dr Sheikh Amzad Hossain said many IT professionals are visiting their stall and showing interest to sit for the coming ITEE in October next for getting international recognition. "We are even getting visitors from outside Dhaka," he said.
The ITEE, presently mutually recognised by 12 Asian countries, is basically a national standardised examination of Japan for IT professionals, attended by five to 0.60 million IT students every year.
In the joint statement on the outcome of the recent official visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Japan, both the prime ministers of Bangladesh and Japan welcomed that the ITEE has been introduced in Bangladesh through technical cooperation of JICA and the Information-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA).
The two prime ministers expressed their expectation for the development of IT and related industry in Bangladesh through the introduction of ITEE.
