IU officers threaten indefinite work abstention

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Aug 28 (UNB): The Islamic University Officers' Association has threatened to go for an indefinite work abstention from September 02 if their three-point demand is not met.
A press release, signed by the association's President Shamsul Islam Zhoha and General Secretary Mir Morshed, was issued in this regard on Wednesday morning.
The demands include increasing salary scale, extending age limit for retirement from 60 to 62 years, and changing working hours from 9:00 am-4:30 pm to 8:00 am-2:00 pm.
Leaders of the association said they would continue demonstration if their demands are not accepted at the 246th syndicate meeting scheduled for August 31.
