IUB ranked top univ in Bangladesh

BUET emerges 2nd

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has been ranked the top university in Bangladesh by the Webometrics in its Ranking Web of Universities (RWU).
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Techno-logy (BUET) ranked second followed by North South University (NSU) Bangladesh.
Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) emerged fourth and Shahjalal University of Science & Technology fifth in the ranking of the country.
Mawlana Bhasani Science & Technology University was placed in the sixth position followed by Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (7th), American International University Bangladesh (8th), Khulna University (9th) and Rajshahi University (10th).
The RWU uses four criteria for ranking, namely presence, visibility, transparency (openness) and excellence (scholar), compiling the data from reliable prestigious open data sources, namely google, ahrefs, majestic, google scholar citations, and scimago.
RWU ranked the IUB as the number one recently having assessed all essential criteria, according to a press statement.
RWU is produced by the Cybermetrics Lab, a unit of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the main public research body in Spain, which is universally recognised as one of the top research and development European institutions.
The RWU includes 147 Bangladeshi public and private universities and medical colleges. The IUB was also ranked 859th among the 11,852 Asian universities (excluding the Middle East), 124th among the 4,479 universities in South Asia and 3,006th among the 28,000+ universities in the world.
