Ivy Rahman\\\'s 10th death anniv Sunday

The 10th death anniversary of Awami League leader Ivy Rahman will be observed on Sunday. Ivy Rahman, the party’s secretary for women affairs, died 58 hours after being severely injured by grenades hurled on an AL rally in Dhaka’s Bangabandhu Avenue on August 21, 2004. Hasina was addressing the rally when it came under grenade attack in the afternoon. The AL was then the main opposition party. Ivy was wife of late President Zillur Rahman. Scores others lost their lives and countless party activists were left injured, many of them maimed for life. Munajat will be offered at a mosque after Zohr and Asr prayers. Special prayers will be offered at her family home ‘Ivy’s Legacy’ at Gulshan-2 after Asr prayers Sunday. Besides, a ‘doa mahfil’ will be held in the city, according to a news agency.
