Jail super, 8 others sued in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, June 8: Jail Superintendent of Chittagong central jail, jailor and seven others have been sued in a case filed by a relative of Zakir Hossain (30), who died in custody.
 Zakir's younger brother Yakub Kaiser filed the case with the court of chief metropolitan magistrate (CMM) of Chittagong Mashiur Rahman today.
The court has ordered the deputy commissioner (DB) Chittagong to investigate the allegation and send its report to the court.
 Advocate Nasir Uddin, plaintiff's legal advisor, said Zakir Hossain, a 14-year jail term convict, was killed in a planned way but the jail authority said he had committed suicide in the jail hospital.
 The accused are jailor Nesar Ahmed, jail hospital director Dr Mostafizur Rahman, senior jail super Sagir Meah, Subedar Amju Mea, Subedar Humayun Kabir, chief jail guards Md Hossain and Abdur Rashid, jail guard Md Alamgir and Ziabul Islam.
