Jalil re-elected chairman of Mercantile Bank

Mr Md Abdul Jalil MP, founder chairman of Mercantile Bank Limited has been re-elected chairman of the bank, said a press release. Mr Jalil obtained his BA (Hons) degree in Political Science in 1963 from the University of Dhaka and also obtained Masters degree from the same university in 1964. He went to Lincons Inn of London to study Bar at Law but came back to country at the call of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and took part in the country's liberation war in 1971. After liberation war, he joined business at Naogaon. Ms Jalil Traders and Ms Foyezuddin Cold Storage Limited are the two business concerns of Mr Jalil. Mr Jalil was the general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League. He also served the nation as commerce minister during 1996 2001.
