Jamaat leader arrested in C\\\'nawabganj

Detectives have arrested Tariqul Alam Siddiqui Nayan 40, vice-president of Chapainawabganj Zila Shikshak Karmachari Kallyan Samity and also a local leader of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. Officer in Charge (OC) of Chapainawabganj Sadar Thana Jasimuddin said, he was a wanted accused of 18 cases of murder, arson, ransacking and attacking police and was absconding. On receipt of secret information, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police picked him up from near his house at Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital around 12:30pm on Monday, according to a news agency.
