Jamaat leader sent to jail after remand

CHITTAGONG, Jan 22 (BSS): Leader of Jamaat-i-Islami Ekramul Haq was sent to jail today after completion of his one-day remand.
Police produced him before a metropolitan magistrate's court today and the court sent him to the jail, court and police sources said.
Police arrested Ekram along with 11 Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) activists with seven firearms and 27 bullets from an ICS-run mess at Mistripara under Double Mooring thana in the city Sunday midnight.
Investigation Officer of the case and Officer-in-Charge of Double Mooring police AKM Manjurul Haq told BSS that they extracted some important information from Ekram during the remand.
