KHULNA, Aug 11 (BSS): A court of Khulna here today (Monday) cancelled bail of Phultala Upazila Jamaat Ameer and Vice Chairman of Phultala Upazila Parisad Gausul Azam Hadi on charge of anti-state activities.
Shahinur Rahman, magistrate of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court, rejected the bail prayer and passed order to send him to jail.
Earlier, the Jamaat leader got bail in seven separate cases from different courts.
On March 2 in 2013, the Jamaat leader along with his accomplices vandalised motorbikes, obstructed movement of vehicles on Khulna-Dhaka highway and exploded bombs on the road during hartal and road and railway blockade programme enforced by Jamaat-e-Islami in protest against arrest of their central leaders in war crime cases, said Elias Ali Fakir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Phultala Police Station.
During the programme, leaders and activists of Jamaat-Shibir led by Hadi intercepted on duty police personnel while the latter's charged baton on Jamaat activists to bring the situation under control. Vice Chairman Hadi and his men also attacked Police and threw brick bats on them, he said.
Police arrested him from his residence after the incident and sent him to jail. He was accused in eight cases on same charges, OC said adding that he got bail in seven cases earlier but Police showed him arrested in another case.
