Jamaat leaders challenge ICT

Five top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami including its chief Matiur Rahman Nizami have filed separate petitions challenging the validity of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), reports bdnews24.com.
The petitions were filed by defence lawyer Imran Siddique, on their behalf, at the High Court bench of justices Sharif Uddin Chaklader and Mohammad Fazlur Rahman Wednesday noon.
Secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed, two assistant secretaries general, M Kamaruzzaman and Abdul Kader Molla, and executive committee member Delwar Hossain Sayedee also filed the petitions.
They are currently in prison and under trial for genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.
The court will hear the petitions today (Thursday).
