Jamaat man arrested in Sylhet

Police arrested an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami in Sylhet city on Saturday for attacking cops and vandalising vehicles. The arrestee was identified as Fahim Ahmed, 28, son of late Masddar Ali of Akhalia Neharipara in the city. Ataur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said a police team led by Masum, assistant sub-inspector of the Police Station, raided the house of Fahim’s uncle and arrested him at about 12:15 am. Fahim is wanted in a case filed for vandalism and attacking police during violence before January 5 national elections, said the OC, according to UNB.
