Jamaat-e-Islam Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has called upon the interim government for working on some basic issues alongside bringing reforms to the state mechanism to pave the right way of governing the country, reports BSS.
"We're taking part in the dialogue for the need of the nation. This government is a neutral and non-political one. They didn't come to rule the country rather to pave the correct way of governance," he said.
He came up with the opinions while leading a delegation of the Jamaat-e-Islami in a dialogue with the advisers led by Chief Advise Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus at State Guest House Jamuna here.
Dr Shafiqur said the task of the interim government is to present the nation a peaceful and fair election.
"For that, the interim government would have to work on some basic issues alongside bringing reforms. We talked about the issues in the dialogue," he said.
The Jamaat Ameer said they would make public their proposals on October 9.
"We will present our thoughts on the necessary reforms before the nation on that day," he said.
Dr Shafiqur said they also talked about the present law and order situation of the country.
"We held discussions on how we can improve the law and order situation along with making the nation united to confront any kind of conspiracy against the state," he said.
