NARAIL, Jan 27 (BSS): Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Prof Mia Golam Parwar said his party is ready to give logical time for holding a free and fair election.
"The interim government should announce an election roadmap after completing necessary reforms in various institutions…It is possible to bring reforms to all divisions and departments relating to election by the next six months," he opined.
Parwar, also a former members of parliament (MP), made the remarks while talking to Journalists after participating in the namaj-e-janaza of former Narail district Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Maulana Nurrunnabi Jihadi on Harkhali school premises in Narail Sadar upazila on Monday.
Referring to a comment that holding of election will take long time, he said it is not at all a problem to wait 3-4 months for the sake of holding a free and fair election since we had to wait 15 years for an election.
"Holding a neutral election is more important to us rather than time," the Jamaat-e-Islami leader said.
Mentioning that the deceased Maulana Nurrunnabi Jihadi had been an Ameer of Narail district Jamaat-e-Islami for nearly 14-15 years.
