Jamaat-Shibir men among 130 held in Ctg

At least 103 persons including seven activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir, have been arrested in separate overnight drives in different areas of Chittagong district. Moreover, 68 litres of liquor and 113 pieces of Yaba tablets have also been seized during the drive, conducted from Monday night to Tuesday morning. Confirming the arrests and the seizure, Chittagong additional police super (Special Branch) Muhammad Naimul Hasan said that among the arrestees, four are Jamaat activists and 3 Shibir men. They are accused in several cases including of creating violence and obstructing in government duty, he added, according to a news agency.
