Jamaat to run for 215, IAB 259 seats

The 10-party alliance has decided to allocate 215 seats to the Jamaat-e-Islami, with the remaining 85 seats distributed among the other partners, report agencies.
The seat distribution was confirmed hours before election campaigning began following the allocation of symbols to candidates.
The general election is scheduled to be held in 300 seats on February 12.
Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) will contest 259 seats in the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad elections with its electoral symbol ‘Hat Pakha’.
Maulana Lokman Hossain Jafri, member secretary of the party's central election management committee, revealed in a press release on Wedenesday.
