Jamdani fair kicks off in city

A month-long international Jamdani fair kicked off on the premises of Siddeshwari Girls' High School on Friday in the city. State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan inaugurated the "International Jamdani Tantbastra Fair" organised by Bangladesh Weavers Product and Manufacturing Business Association (BWPMBA). A total of 60 stalls are displaying various handloom products such as Jamdani sarees, lungi, bedcovers, tablemats, and boutique sarees. General Secretary of the fair organising committee Md Osman Gani said people will be able to buy Jamdani sarees at reasonable prices. The fair will remain open from 10 am to 10 pm every day.
