Jamuna Bank promotes Shahidul Islam as DMD

Jamuna Bank promoted Md. Shahidul Islam to the esteemed position of deputy managing director (DMD), effective from April 28 this year.
The move underscores the bank's continued commitment to recognising experienced leadership and fostering sustainable growth through vision and integrity, according to a press statement.
With over 30 years of experience in the banking sector, Mr. Islam brings with him a wealth of knowledge across conventional and Islamic banking.
He currently oversees several vital divisions of the bank, including corporate banking, SME and retail marketing, cards, agri unit, Islamic banking and bancassurance.
Prior to joining Jamuna Bank, he held several branch managerial positions at Prime Bank and Islami Bank Bangladesh, where he played a pivotal role in expanding Islamic financial services and operational leadership.
Mr. Islam is an alumnus of the University of Dhaka and has completed specialised training in Malaysia, Singapore, and Bangladesh on Islamic finance, risk management, and trade operations.
