Janata Bank task force meeting held

A task force meeting was held at the head office of Janata Bank in the city Sunday, said a press release.
Managing Director of Janata Bank Md Mukter Hussain presided over the meeting.
The review of the recovery of non-performing loans got priority at the meeting.
It was observed that the target of loan recovery from the top 20 defaulters was Tk 270.5 million (Tk 27.5 crore) in line with the MoU (memorandum of understanding) of the bank submitted to Bangladesh Bank in 2007.
The bank was able to recover Tk 319.8 million until June, 2006.
The meeting was told that the recovery of the outstanding bank loan in this sector was Tk 1.0 million only against the stipulated target of Tk 250 million.
Managing Director of the bank asked the officials to gear up loan recovery drive.
Deputy Managing Director of Janata Bank Md Mizanur Rahman and general managers were present on the occasion.
