Janaza of slain army officers postponed

Sunday, 1 March 2009

The scheduled namaj-e-janaza of the Army officers killed at BDR Headquarters has been postponed as more dead bodies are being retrieved from more mass graves at Peelkhana, reports UNB.

An ISPR press release said: "Two more mass graves of the massacre by BDR members have been discovered at Peelkhana and dead bodies of more Army officers and their relatives are being recovered."

"To bury all the deceased in state honour, the janaza scheduled for 3 pm and burial programme has been postponed. The changed schedule will be announced later," the release added.

Another release said protection of the property of the families who left their residences at Peelkhana has been ensured.

For any information in this regard, concerned individuals have been requested to contact the information centre set up at the main gate of Pilkhana.
