JaPa nominates Ranga as opposition chief whip

Jatiya Party (JaPa) on Saturday nominated its Secretary General Moshiur Rahman Ranga as the opposition chief whip of the 11the parliament, reports UNB.
A letter in this regard signed by Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Friday was sent to Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Choudhury.
Earlier on Friday, HM Ershad said his party will be the main opposition in Parliament while he will act as the Leader of the Opposition.

In a statement on Friday, Jatiya Party chairman Ershad came up with the announcement contradicting the Jatiya Party Parliamentary Party's decision to join the Awami League-led Grand Alliance government.
On Thursday, Jatiya Party Parliamentary Party decided to join the Awami League-led Grand Alliance government to make contributions to the country's further development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Party cochairman GM Quader came up with the announcement after its parliamentary party's meeting in Parliament.
Jatiya Party which joined the election as the key partner of the Grand Alliance bagged 22 seats.
