Japan shows interest to invest in BD rail projects

Japan has shown interest to invest in the proposed underground railway and metro-rail projects in Dhaka as well as Dhaka-Chittagong express railway project. 
The Japanese government expressed willingness at a bilateral meeting between Bangladesh Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and Japan’s finance, trade and industry affairs minister, state minister for foreign affairs and President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Vice President of Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) in Tokyo on Monday, said a press release issued by the Planning Ministry.
They also requested Dhaka to submit a formal proposal to Japan in this regard.
