Japan supports centre for disabled, poor women

A resource centre has been launched in Lalmonirhat with the support of Japan to provide various training and physiotherapy to poor women and disabled, reports BSS.
At least 1200 disabled will be able to receive high quality physiotherapy every year through this Resource Centre.
Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh Hiroto Sobajima opened the Resource Centre Monday.
Local NGO Natun Zibon Rochi (NAZIR) built the centre under Japan's Grant Assistance for the Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGHSP).
Expressing heartiest congratulations to NAZIR Sobajima hoped that this project would greatly contribute to the betterment of health and economic condition of the deprived people of Lalmonirhat and therefore, accelerate the overall socio-economic development of Bangladesh.
NAZIR received the grant amounting TK 6 million for this project.
Under this project NAZIR will build the two-storied Resource Centre for the disabled and poor women, provide various training like farm job, poultry rearing, tailoring, and button making to 10,350 disabled and poor women in a year.
