Japanese delegation visits Ctg port

CHATTOGRAM, May 14: A high-level delegation led by Ambassador of Japan SAIDA Shinichi visited Chittagong Port on Thursday to discuss strategic infrastructure projects and enhance bilateral maritime cooperation.
Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) Member (Harbor and Marine) Commodore Ahmed Amin Abdullah welcomed the ambassador.
The delegation held talks with senior officials of the port at the CPA boardroom. During the discussions, the port's operational capabilities, future expansion plans, and its important role in regional trade were highlighted. In addition, the integration of modern technology and safety standards into the port management was also given importance.
The delegation also had a fruitful discussion on the Matarbari Deep Sea Port Development Project and other ongoing development projects of the CPA. The discussions mainly focused on technical cooperation, project timelines, and maritime cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan.
The ambassador's visit concluded with a field visit to the Chittagong port's operational areas. The delegation expressed deep satisfaction with the overall progress of Chittagong Port.
Mochida Yutaro, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh, and Fujimoto Saori of the delegation were present during the visit.
Among others, CPA Member (Engineering) Commodore Md. Mazharul Islam Jewel, Member (Administration and Planning) Md. Samimuzzaman (Additional Secretary) and senior officials were present at the meeting.
