Japanese entrepreneurs interested to invest in BD projects

Entrepreneurs of Kobe City, the sixth largest city in Japan, have shown keen interest to invest in large infrastructure projects in Bangladesh, said its Governor Toshizo Ido on Wednesday.
They have shown interest particularly in the areas of water treatment plant, power plant, construction or management of deep sea port, health care and modernization of hospitals in Bangladesh, and training of doctors and nurses.
Toshizo Ido conveyed this when State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, now in Japan, met him in Kobe City of Hyogo Prefecture in Japan.
The State Minister paid a short visit to Kobe at the invitation of the Governor of the Prefecture Toshizo Ido and Mayor of Kobe City Kizo Hishamoto, according to a Foreign Ministry media release.
The Mayor informed that Kobe City Corporation had already established cooperation with Chittagong through an exchange programme between Kobe University and Chittagong Medical College.
Kobe, one of the modern and most developed cities in Japan, is a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network since 2008 and also recognized by the UNESCO as the “City of Design,” according to UNB.
