Though the devastating earthquake and tsunami on 11th March, 2011 took place around 5,000 miles away from Bangladesh, it triggered a feeling of concern in the hearts of the people of Bangladesh. Japan has been our friend for decades and it has immensely contributed for infrastructural development of Bangladesh. It is our duty to stand beside the people of Japan and give mental support to them in their time of grief and distress. The Social Welfare Club of Institute of Business Administration, Jahangirnagar University (SWA, IBA-JU) has answered to this call by organising a Charity Film Festival with the slogan "Let's Stand Together for Japan Keeping Hands in Hand". The theme was the brainchild of Dr. S. M. Rafiul Huque, Chief Advisor of SWC, IBA-JU who inspired his club members to make this effort to materialise. Mr. Feroze Rehan, Lecturer, IBA-JU and a Senior Advisor of the club played key role to organise the main event from back stage.
