Japanese industry to invest $2.934m in Dhaka EPZ

Japanese company M/s IP Jaq Knitting Limited is going to set up a sweater manufacturing industry in the Dhaka Export Processing Zone, said a press release.
This 100 per cent foreign owned company will invest US$ 2.934 million and will annually manufacture 1.35 million pieces of sweater (knitted sweater). The company will create employment opportunity for 68 nationals and five foreigners.
An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and the M/s IP Jaq Knitting Limited in the city recently.
BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Prasanta Bhushan Barua and IP Jaq Knitting Limited Managing Director Kazuhiko Ito and Director of Hideo Nakanishi have signed the lease agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Among others, Member (Finance) AKM Mahbubur Rahman, General Manager (Investment Promotion) AZM Azizur Rahman, Deputy General Manager (Public Relations) Nazma Binte Alamgir, and Manager (Industrial Relations) Md Abdus Sobhan of BEPZA were present at the signing ceremony.
