Japanese restaurant to offer \\\'Kobe beef\\\' in city from Dec 15

Shishikura Limited, a more than two century-old Japanese company having chains of convenient stores and super markets in the world, launches its investment in Bangladesh soon with the opening of a steak and seafood restaurant in the capital on December 15.
Kobe Steak and Seafood will offer the world famous 'Kobe beef' to its customers along with various foods cooked in Japanese style.
The restaurant will also have a 19-foot long salad buffet with different kinds of fresh vegetables that can be enjoyed after giving order of one main food.
 "The restaurant will serve healthy food, and ensure safety of the food with utmost importance. It will also provide Japanese customer service in which Japan is famous in the world," Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan, one of the joint venture partners of the new Japanese restaurant, said in an interview with the FE.
He said Leo Global Ltd will now operate the restaurant as a sister concern of Shishikura Limited with 80:20 partnership between Japan and Bangladesh.
Tareq, who is also a director of the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the Shishikura Limited is interested in expanding its market here with several restaurants, bakery stores, wholesale bakery and setting up convenient stores and superstores in the future.
 "The company's next target is likely in bakery stores," he added.
Shishikura is a 235-year-old company in Japan and it has invested Tk 20 million to open first-ever restaurant in the city's Banani area. Leo Global Ltd conducted a market study during the last two years.
Koki Mizutani will operate the Kobe Steak and Seafood as the Managing Director. The restaurant will also feature Japanese chef.
