Jashore man sentenced to death for killing wife

JASHORE, June 19 (UNB): A Jashore court has sentenced a man to rigorous life imprisonment for killing his wife in 2011.
The convicted Abdul Hamid Moral is a resident of Khajura Paschimpara of Sharsha Upazila.
Special District Judge Samsul Haque, also fined him Tk 20,000 in default of which he will have to serve another six months in prison, said Sajjad Mustafa Raja, special public prosecutor at the court.
According to court sources, on January 29, 2011, Abdul Hamid locked into an altercation with his wife Amena Begum around 3pm over a family dispute.
