Jasim Pollimela begins Saturday in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, Jan 10 (BSS): A fortnight long village fair styled as 'Jasim Pollimela' in connection with the observance of 110th birth anniversary of Polli Kabi Jasimuddin will begin here at village Gobindapur adjacent to the 'mazar' and the ancestral home of the late poet in the outskirts of the town. The fortnight long fair like previous years since 90's is being organised by the district administration in collaboration with Jasim Foundation and BSCIC. Meanwhile two hundred stalls, necessary infrastructures, towers, land development have been done by the concerned sub-committees. It may be mentioned here that there is a permanent stage in the fair site where all cultural functions are organised situated on the bank of the river Kumar.
