Jatka Preservation Week observed in Chandpur

CHANDPUR, Apr 7 (BSS): Jatka Preservation Week is being observed in Chandpur from Monday in a befitting manner. On the occasion, a colourful rally was brought out in the town. The rally paraded different roads of the district headquarters. A discussion meeting was held at Chandpur station on the bank of the River Meghna. The meeting was organised by Fishery Department in co- operation with District Task Force. The meeting was presided over by Ratan Datta, District Fishery Officer. The meeting was addressed, among others, by Priotosh Shah, DC Chandpur, Lt. Md. Saifur Rahman, Commander Coast Guard, Chandpur station, Amir Zafar, ASP, Md. Zahid, chief scientific officer, Fishery Institute, Dr. Anisur Rahman, Md. Ikram Chowdhury, President, Chandpur Press Club and Shahinor Shahin Khan, UNO Chandpur.
