JCD accuses Shibir of misleading students into mob violence

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir has alleged that secret activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir are misleading students and provoking mob violence against Chhatra Dal.
Speaking on Monday outside the BNP central office at Nayapaltan in Dhaka before a protest march, he said the recent murder near Mitford Hospital in Old Dhaka is being exploited to create confusion on campuses.
"Several brutal murders occurred nationwide last week, but none sparked student protests except the Mitford incident. This clearly indicates a hidden agenda."
He also accused the group of spreading false propaganda in the name of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman to blame Chhatra Dal and mislead students.
Chhatra Dal announced the protest march to oppose Jamaat-Shibir-backed attempts to disrupt educational institutions, create chaos, and worsen law and order.
The march started at 3:30pm from the party office at Nayapaltan, passing through Kakrail, Matsya Bhaban, the Press Club, Curzon Hall, and TSC, ending at Shahbagh.
Leaders and activists from JCD's central committee, Dhaka University unit, city units, and various university, college, and thana-level branches participated.
