Saturday, 8 November 2014

A group of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leaders, left out of its recent committee, allegedly attacked a vehicle carrying BNP leaders Shaheed Uddin Chowdhury Annee and Sultan Salauddin Tuku, reports bdnews24.com.
They came under attack at the Bijoy Sarani intersection on their way to party founder Ziaur Rahman's grave on Friday morning to pay their homage on the commemoration of November 7.
Witnesses said JCD activists smashed the glasses of the vehicle.
Annee and Tuku, BNP's student affairs secretary and deputy secretary respectively, were unharmed, party leaders said.
Two JCD leaders said they were assembling near the military museum before going to the Ziaur Rahman's grave when  Annee and Tuku happened to pass by.
Several irate activists began protesting shouting and threw stones at the vehicle.
The car's right windowpanes were damaged.
"Other JCD leaders intervened and the vehicle left without further incident," they said declining to be named.
DMP's Tejgaon zone Assistant Police Commissioner Afrajul Haq said they were looking into the incident.
There has been simmering tension since the formation of a new JCD committee on Oct 14. Those excluded have been agitating since. They had even attacked the party's Naya Paltan headquarters.
