Pro-BNP student organisation Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) demanded immediate election to the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) to mobilise student politics.
JCD placed the demand while its DU unit convening committee was meeting DU Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique Wednesday.
Giving assurance of full cooperation to the university administration to maintain congenial academic atmosphere on the campus, the organisation urged the DU VC to ensure coexistence of all students at the residential halls. Meanwhile, JCD President Sultan Salahuddin Tuku at a view exchange meeting with reporters at DU Journalists' Association (DUJA) Wednesday pledged to make JCD a modern and time-befitting student organisation in the days to come.
