JCD Gen Secy Habib held

General Secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) Habibur Rashid Habib was arrested in the city on Saturday morning. The secretary of the BNP’s student wing was picked up by police from Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport at Kurmitola in Dhaka, said airport police station’s OC Shah Alam. The police officer, however, did not provide details of the charges against the student leader. When contacted, JCD’s Office Secretary Nazmul Hasan said that Habib was on his way to the USA, when the police rounded him up from the airport around 4:30am. ‘Police took Habib to the airport police station. We came to know that he was later handed over to the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police,’ the JCD office secretary said, according to private TV channels.
