JCD leader arrested

Police arrested a local leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) at Godara village of Morelganj Upazila in Bagerhat on Wednesday in connection with a robbery case. The arrested is Moniruzzaman Shilpi, 34, president of Hoglabunia union unit JCD of the Upazila and son of Habibur Rahman, a resident of Godara village. Police quoting locals said a gang of robbers stormed the house of Abul Kalam at the village on September 29, 2013. The bandits beat up the inmates and looted valuables. A case was filed and Maniruzzaman has been arrested for his suspected involvement in the robbery, according to UNB.
