JCD strike underway at Osmani Medical College

The indefinite strike, called by Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College unit Jatiytabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) protesting killing of its activist Towhidul Islam, is underway in the college campus on Thursday. The striking students took position at important points on the campus in the morning and are staging demonstrations since then. They brought out processions chanting slogans in support of their demands. No classes and examinations were held in the morning. The students said that they will continue their strike until the demands are met. At a press briefing in the campus on Wednesday night, MAG Osmani Medical College unit JCD president Aslamul Islam Rudra announced the programme, according to a news agency.
