Jessore bomb blast victim dies

An elderly woman who was injured in a crude bomb explosion at Bhaturia village in Sadar upazila of Jessore district died at Jessore Medical College Hospital (JMCH) after fighting for life for one week. The victim was identified as Renuka Begum, 50, wife of Fazle Ali of the village. Sources at the JMCH said Renuka received splinter injuries to different parts of her body after a crude bomb kept hidden in a stack of straw exploded on April 17 while she was pulling straw from the stack. She was rushed to JMCH in a critical condition where she succumbed to her injures Thursday morning, according to a news agency.
