Jessore UP chairman shot dead

BENAPOLE, Feb 24 (UNB): A Union Parishad chairman and also local Awami League leader was shot to death by miscreants at Baliadanga in Sadar Upazila of Jessore district  Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mosharraf Hossain, 48, chairman of Ichhali union and also vice-president of the same union unit of the ruling party.
Officer-in-charge Enamul Haque of Kotwali Police Station said a group of miscreants opened fire on Mosharraf while he was passing through the area on a bike at about 11:00 am, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was filed in this connection.
