Jet Airways, India's international premier airliner, launched an additional direct flight between Dhaka and Delhi on Tuesday, says a press statement.
The planned expansion -- including a four-day-a-week operation on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays -- is in line with the airline's 'Think India, Think Jet Airways' policy, it said.
This new service will complement the existing daily operations between the two cities, providing more flight choices.
The additional flight will prove to be a boon for corporate travellers, enhancing economic ties between the two countries, said the press statement.
Jet Airways 9W 279 will depart from Dhaka at 1515 hrs (local time) and reach Delhi at 1725 hrs (local time). On its return leg, Jet Airways 9W 280 will depart from Delhi at 1035 hrs (local time) and arrive in Dhaka at 1345 hrs (local time).
Gaurang Shetty, Whole-time Director, Jet Airways, said as economic activities develop along with the ties between the two countries, it provides opportunities for citizens of Bangladesh to be a part of the growth story.
